The historical homeland of armenians is Armenian Highland.The Armenian Highland or The Armenian plateau is geographical area in the northern part of Asia,where Armenians have developed into and during milleniums have erected their cultural and political history. From the East Armenian Highland contiguous to Iranian plateau, from the West to The Asia Minor peninsula, from the north to the Caucasus mountains and from the south contiguos to The Mesopotamia. It occupies an area of 350.000 km2, have 1500-1800 m. average height from the surface of the sea.Armenian Highland higher thanneighbouring areas, that's why it also calls "Mountain Island".
The national language of Armenians is Armenian,which belongs to Indo-European family of languages and due to its singularities is considered a separate branch. The national religion of Armenians is Christianity. They have adopted Christianity as a national religion first of all countries in the world (in 301).
In ancient times the land of Armenians have been called by different ways such as- "Aratta", "Hayasa", "Nairi", as well as by the names of their kingdoms. Foreigners call their country "Armenia", "Ermenia", "Armina", "Ermenistan" and so on...
Armenian are aryan nation.So are Germans, Bascs, Percians. "Aryan" in ancient Sumerian eposes have meant Sun or God.Just this words lie at the genealogy of all aryan nations and maybe due to Aryan origins armenians have creative and marital vein, which they- the sons of Hayk, repeatedly has proved. Still the anscient periods Armenians have shown to the world power of their brain and beet,that's why Armenians have their great contribution to the development of world science,culture,sports and also to the winning The Second World War.
